The Foundation supports projects that promote educational and cultural opportunities for youth in Kinder Morgan’s areas of operation.

In order to determine your eligibility for funding, please carefully read the funding restrictions on the website. If appropriate, submit a Letter of Inquiry. The Foundation accepts Letters of Inquiry at all times during the year. After review of the inquiry by Foundation staff, the applicant will be contacted within four to six weeks as to the status of the request. Unless requested to apply, the Foundation does not accept proposals from applicants.

Allstate supports its beliefs through community relations efforts in areas where its experience and leadership will have an impact: neighborhood revitalization, personal safety and security, and financial planning and education.

The Foundation makes grants to worthy non-profit causes, programs and organizations that directly benefit the people of the United States in the areas of youth education and scientific education.

The Trust supports performing arts in the Denver Metro region.

The Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations in Boulder County.

Primary emphasis is given to programs that provide for personal growth, education, and development for all children.

ACommunity Enhancement Grant is intended to make a significant difference in the lives of individuals, families, and/or organizations.

It will generally be project or group specific; not intended for general operations and support. Examples might be: art supplies for students from families with limited incomes, gymnastic fees to the recreation center for children of color and/or lower economic means. Other examples might be a piece of equipment that will assist children with disabilities participate in more activities with other children, some teaching equipment or material, or even transportation to a special event. The Foundation's goals are to: enhance the development and well-being of children; make a difference to recipients by providing the means to increase their capacity for productive lives

Bill Daniels directed that 70% of the Fund’s annual distributions be administered through the Daniels Fund Grants Program according to the following percentages: Metro Denver, 50%; other counties in Colorado, 15%; New Mexico, 10%; Utah, 5%; Wyoming, 10%; and national, 10%. He directed that the remaining 30% of the Fund’s annual distributions be administered through the Daniels Scholarship Program.

The Foundation supports general charitable purposes, primarily in Eagle County.

The Gazette Charities conducts charitable activities in the El Paso County area to provide grants, direct and indirect support to arts, youth, family services, and environmental service organizations.

The Denver Newspaper Agency (publisher of The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News) manages this Fund which awards grants to organizations focused on low-income youth and literacy issues. Post-News Charities is a fund of the McCormick Foundation.

Grants are made to nonprofit organizations in the Denver Metro area that serve the needy in one of four areas: homelessness, young children's needs, hunger, and indigent health care.

The Foundation underwrites projects which are designed to improve the lives of the people who reside in The Pueblo Chieftain county circulation area of Southeast Colorado.

The Foundation's primary interests within education include programs that focus on formal K-12 education (particularly mathematics, science and reading/literacy), after-school tutoring and enrichment, integrating technology into curriculum, teacher development, and higher education.

The foundation's mission is to promote caring communities by investing in organizations throughout Colorado working for social justice, and Boulder County nonprofits addressing the needs of underserved communities, primarily disadvantaged youth and their families.

As of 2009, the Bright Mountain board has narrowed the overall focus of the child and youth funding area to mental health prevention, intervention, and treatment for youth 6 to 18 years of age.

Funding for mental health programs will be for community-based, least restrictive, outpatient in home, or in-school programs only. Additionally grants will be to limited psychosocial, non-pharmaceutical interventions. The Bright Mountain Foundation will give preference to coordinated services, where mental health programs are working in partnership/collaboration with each other, the children/youth, and the communities served.

All Coloradans have access to the components of Healthy Living —nutritious food, physical activity and disease management tools—because these are key to staying healthy. Focus on decreasing obesity rate, by increasing number of children and adults who: engage in moderate or vigorous physical activity, eat adequate amounts of fruits and vegetables daily, receive healthy meals at school and have access to healthy vending choices, have convenient access to recreational exercise and fruits and vegetables.

The Buell Foundation seeks programs that have demonstrated success in helping children thrive. We support efforts to improve quality and encourage meaningful evaluation and assessment. It is our goal to partner with outstanding organizations to improve the systems that serve children. Particular focus will be placed on programs that target underserved communities. Particular attention to Early Childhood Education, Social and Emotional development of youth and family stability for children.

The Kettering Family Foundation was created by Eugene W. and Virginia W. Kettering on December 12, 1955 in Hinsdale, Illinois. The registered office moved to Dayton, Ohio in December of 1966. The grant application office opened in Denver, Colorado on January 1, 1993.

The Foundation is currently composed of 13 family members who may elect up to 12 trustees annually. At the present time the Board of Trustees are all direct descendents or spouses of descendents who live throughout the United States.

The Gannett Foundation, a corporate foundation sponsored by Gannett Co., Inc., serves local organizations in those communities in which Gannett Co., Inc. has a local daily newspaper or television station. 9News is owned by Gannett Co., Inc.  Gannett Foundation grants are our way of helping to improve the quality of life and addressing the most pressing social and civic issues facing our community.

The purpose of The Big Read is to encourage literary reading. The following outlines the expectations and requirements for Big Read organizations.

Organizations selected to participate in The Big Read will receive a grant, financial support to attend an orientation meeting, educational and promotional materials for broad distribution, an Organizer’s Guide for developing and managing Big Read activities, inclusion of the organization and its activities on The Big Read Web site, and the prestige of participating in a highly visible national initiative. All organizations selected to participate will have the distinction of using the brand The Big Read.

The Muzak Heart & Soul Foundation’s mission is to redefine and support music education.  Through music education, a child can better achieve his/her full potential and stimulate personal and educational growth.     

Music Matters Grants for 2009 will focus on educational reform in school music programs and independent music programs.  Grants will be awarded in April 2009 (money will be distributed by October 2009), to schools and music programs throughout the United States.  Grant amounts for this cycle are between $1,000-$12,000 each and are made on an annual one-time basis.

Education
Grants are primarily directed to educational programs for youth in grades K-12. Funding is provided to local, state, provincial and regional educational institutions, libraries and programs that provide ongoing support, such as Junior Achievement.

Arts and Culture
We support youth programs provided by local arts organizations, symphony orchestras, museums and more.

 

In partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), PCAH is embarking on the twelfth year of the Coming Up Taller Awards, which recognizes the accomplishments of exceptional arts and humanities after-school and out-of-school programs. Coming Up Taller finalists receive $10,000, an individualized plaque, and an invitation to attend the Coming Up Taller Leadership Enhancement Conference

Support nonprofit organizations in communities where Gannett owns a television station or newspaper. Areas of interest include education and neighborhood improvement; economic development; youth development; community problem solving; assistance to disadvantaged people; environmental conservation; and cultural enrichment.

Arrow is committed to serving the communities in which its employees live and work. Our demonstrated commitment to corporate citizenship extends beyond the boundaries of our business to the global community of which we are a part. Our charitable donations support nonprofit organizations serving education, arts and culture, the environment, health and human services, and disaster relief.

Fundraising opportunities at the local level include in-store bookfairs and holiday gift-wrapping.  Programs are set up at the store level, and inquiries should be directed to the store manager or community relations manager.

In addition, we offer a limited number of sponsorships and donations to organizations that meet our mission.  Opportunities must be located in the community or communities in which we operate, and serve the greater good of the local community or region.  We seek partnerships that offer in-store events, visibility, and reach a wide audience.

Baseball Tomorrow Fund will review all grant applications and will be most interested in projects that help:

• Increase the number of youth participating in baseball and softball programs;
• Improve the quality of youth baseball and softball programs;
• Create new or innovative ways of expanding and improving baseball or softball programs;
• Generate matching funds for programs;
• Address programs for children aged 10-16;
• Support existing programs which have demonstrated success in providing a quality baseball/softball experience for youth;
• Address opportunities for minorities and women.

Baughman Foundation funds Southeastern Colorado.

Bee Vradenburg Foundation is keenly interested in the health of the arts community of the Pikes Peak region, especially the performing arts. Our grants touch many parts of the cultural sector, with particular interest in:

• Growing and sustaining cornerstone arts organizations that are part of the cultural fabric of the region.
• Supporting smaller, new and emerging arts organizations and artistic endeavors.

We measure the effectiveness of our grants by their ability to achieve one or many of five primary goals:

• Building the capacity and effectiveness of arts organizations.
• Broadening, deepening and diversifying arts audiences.
• Encouraging employment in the arts sector and recognizing and advancing the talents and skills of individual artists.
• Supporting arts education and youth participation in the arts.
• Fostering  diversity in artistic employment, art forms and arts audiences.

The Foundation is dedicated to supporting the communities we serve and in which our employees live, work, and volunteer. Your organization, or program, should exist in or serve a community near one of BNSF's rail lines to be eligible to apply for grants. Please refer to the BNSF system map included in the Policies & Guidelines section to determine whether you are located on a BNSF route. One type of focus is Youth organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs, Camp Fire, Scouts, Junior Achievement and similar groups.

The mission of the Captain Planet Foundation is to fund and support hands-on, environmental projects for children and youths. Our objective is to encourage innovative programs that empower children and youth around the world to work individually and collectively to solve environmental problems in their neighborhoods and communities. Through environmental education, we believe that children can achieve a better understanding and appreciation for the world in which they live.

In order to be considered for funding, proposals must:

• Promote understanding of environmental issues
• Focus on hands-on involvement
• Involve children and young adults 6-18 (elementary through high school)
• Promote interaction and cooperation within the group
• Help young people develop planning and problem solving skills
• Include adult supervision
• Commit to follow-up communication with the Foundation (specific requirements are explained once the grant has been awarded)
